To change the licence they have to get an agreement of all contributors.Īnd the licence implies that even if you sell the software you have to provide the source code with it, and nothing prevent people to do whatever they want with it, even redistributing it.

Well, the ‘mission’ of the blender project is to provide an open pipeline for 3D animation, it’s very unlikely that they’ll shift gears, but it could append, at least nothing prevent blender foundation from doing so.īut still the software is protected by the open source licence.
